Explore Indigenous Perspectives

Canada’s 150th is a national milestone and also tied to the WE movement because Living WE is what living in Canada is all about—bringing people together and giving them the tools to change the world.

Being Canadian means playing an active role in the global community and working together toward inclusivity and a better future. Celebrate Canada’s 150th anniversary with an immersive service-learning trip to Ecuador—giving your group the opportunity to immerse themselves in both Canadian and Ecuadorian Indigenous Culture, working side-by-side with locals on WE Villages development projects.

Throughout this unique trip, groups will:

  • Explore Old Quito, a UNESCO World Heritage Site—take a guided walking tour, explore Ecuador’s colonial past and contemporary struggles, and visit the equator.
  • Connect with an Indigenous community in the heart of the Amazon jungle or high in the Andes mountains.
  • Be inspired by stories of young Canadian leaders who are making a difference around the world, as you explore
students’ roles as active global citizens shaping the future of Canada and the world.
  • Learn about local Indigenous tribes and their deep-rooted history—explore similarities and differences between
 Ecuadorian and Canadian Indigenous populations.
