Together with like-minded campers, explore local and global issues as you explore your current passions and discover new ones. Each day is different, jam-packed with exciting activities like campfires, spontaneous dance parties, outdoor games, crafts and more, plus leadership activities led by our expert facilitators. Return home not only with memories to last a lifetime, but with the inspiration and skills to make a difference in your community and world!

General Programming

Are you a first-time camper? Your journey begins here! Alongside other campers around your age, spend the week delving into a variety of global issues, building your leadership skills—and of course, having a whole lot of fun!

Sports and Leadership

For returning and experienced campers! Discover the importance of leadership in sports, as you connect sports and social justice, and learn how to use games for the greater good.

Arts and Activism

Get a deep understanding of the connection between art and social activism by exploring the role of art in influencing past social movements. Create positive change by applying your artistic talents to issues you care about.

Social Movements Through Media

Get the skills and knowledge to better understand the bias, influence and intention behind media. You’ll also explore the role of media in impacting social movements.

Social Innovation for Change

Explore how you can tackle problems in a new, creative way that fosters positive social change—and gain skills in innovation, idea generation and collaboration.

Leaders in Training (LIT)

Learn about leading groups of youth, while enhancing your own leadership and social justice skills, and have the opportunity to lead large and small group activities at camp.

Returning Campers

Welcome back, world-changer! As a returning camper, there’s so much awesomeness in store for you. Meet new and old friends around the campfire and enjoy everything you loved about camp the first time around—and more! Take part in advanced programming to grow your leadership and public speaking skills, and have the option of joining a specialized stream to dive into a specific passion! Connect with our team to learn more about each program.

LEADERSHIP STREAMS

Offered to experienced campers who are 14+, each stream explores social issues in innovative and creative ways. Streams are offered during designated weeks at camp—choose from Social Movements through Media, Arts and Activism; Social Innovation for Change; and Sports and Leadership.

Leaders in Training (LIT)

Available to experienced leaders by application, this program gives you the opportunity to participate in leadership training focused on leadership skills, communication tools, group management and program creation.

Take your leadership skills to the next level at our camp location in Arizona, U.S. Designed for participants 16+ with leadership experience, this program will give you the tools to become a strong leader in any group—from sports teams, to school clubs and the workplace.

Why Take Action Camp: I am constantly humbled by all of the passion young people bring and leave with, while being constantly reminded of how the best way you can make a difference in the world, is by just being yourself.

Fun Fact: Started off as a participant in ME to WE programming WAY BACK in Grade 10.

Why Take Action Camp: Creating a space where young, ambitious, and bright youth are celebrated and inspired to create change is such a privilege, and I get to learn from them each and every day.

Why Take Action Camp: As a kid who grew up going to camp, I know the impact it has on young peoples’ lives. I can only hope we can help our campers realize the incredible impact they can make on our world.

Why Take Action Camp: As a kid who grew up going to camp, I know the impact it has on young peoples’ lives. I can only hope we can help our campers realize the incredible impact they can make on our world.

Favourite part of Take Action Camp: Camp is a special place where you make friends you never lose, memories you can never explain and opportunities you could never imagine. My favourite part of the day is waking up because I know I have another full day in the presence of amazing and unique change-makers that take on every minute and second with purpose, positivity and passion!!!

Moment of Honesty: 1. I avoided going to camp as a kid because of the camp songs. 2. My first job was a YMCA Camp Counselor. (Awkward? Awesome?) 3. Fetty Wap is my hero.

Why Take Action Camp: I have found a love for the magic created by young people and staff at Take Action Camp. There is something profound about people coming together and creating what feels like home in a matter of days. I don’t believe there is another place in the world that embraces weirdness and fosters individuality like Take Action Camp does.

Fun Fact: Speaking on The WE Day stage to over 15,000 people was the most people I have spoken to at once.

What does ‘Camp Magic’ mean? The ability to ignite the flame of change in the heart of a young person during a summer that last a lifetime is the definition of magical.
