Witness Life on the Border

Amid the vast desert beauty of the border region in Arizona, global inequality stands front and centre. Here, our trip participants learn skills-training at our expansive, the environmentally-friendly Windsong Peace & Leadership Centre, experience development issues first-hand as they volunteer with local border relief organizations and immerse themselves in the social and environmental issues that face the area.
While volunteering at youth migrant shelters, designing and constructing gardens for the Me to We gardens in Mexico with local community members, and helping restore native habitat in the Sonoran desert region, participants learn about the eclectic border culture of this forgotten region, as well as the issues of poverty, immigration, and environmental degradation that threaten its future. They'll work side-by-side with community members to undertake environmental projects, mural paintings, and youth programming initiative to benefit local communities.
