These earrings are part of the limited Trade Bead Collection in Roxanne's Bazaar. "Trade beads" are ornate glass and semiprecious beads with enormous historical significance. Brought to Africa centuries ago by European traders, trade beads were used as currency between cultures and are celebrated today for their enduring beauty and history.

The Trade Bead Collection incorporates antique trade beads alongside sterling silver accents. Handstrung in a home workshop in Nairobi, each piece combines a unique collection of rare African trade beads and semiprecious stones, including Samburu, amber, Turkana, chevron, camel bone, lapis and turquoise.
