A ring is an important part of our Maasai Collection, because it is worn on the hands, and reminds us of the hardworking artisans whose very survival and life depends on their skills. Each Maasai design is unique to a specific community, with colour combinations passed down from mother to daughter.
Rings are made from genuine leather and glass beads in a variety of colours and Maasai designs. The leather discs are cut from genuine leather in Kibera, Nairobi, bringing alternative income to two urban artisans.
"Lala salama" is Swahili for "good night" or "peaceful sleep"–the equivalent of "sweet dreams."
