Made from the highest quality Pashmina, the Ring Pashmina Shawl is made from a special type of Himalayan wool. Hand-woven in Nepal and hand-dyed in New Delhi, the weave is so soft and fine that you can pull the entire shawl through a ring with ease–a traditional test of quality!

The scarves come from a shop called Janta, a tiny family business in New Delhi, owned by Hamant and his wife Anu. Hamant's grandfather started the studio over sixty years ago, and Hamant has been learning from his grandfather and mother since he was a boy. With thirty-four different factors that determine the quality of a Pashmina, it takes many years of hands-on experience to be able to expertly assess a piece! As a reminder of the shop's long history, a picture of Hamant's grandfather sits in the corner.

Over cups of tea served by Hamant's mother, a traditional Indian custom to greet visitors, Hamant gave us a fascinating lesson on the process of dyeing fabric and showed us a sampling of stunning styles, weaves and blends.
