Jessi Goes to India

In 2009, MTV Canada host and Free The Children ambassador Jessi Cruickshank took a step away from the spotlight into a whole new world. Best known as one half of the popular The Hills After Show, the Calgary-born, Vancouver-raised Cruickshank travelled to India, visiting rural communities and helping lay bricks for a new school.

What Jessi discovered in India profoundly changed the way she viewed the world. Coming face-to-face with poverty, child labour and families deprived of life's basic necessities, she discovered the true power of compassion.
