About Wilson and Jackson.

Wilson (or Meikuaya) was born in Maji Moto, in the Narok South District of Kenya. From the time he was a young boy, Wilson valued the importance of education. So when his parents sent him to attend Free the Children's Naikarra Primary School, it was no surprise that Wilson was always at the top of his class. His peers and teachers quickly recognized his natural leadership ability; he was even elected president of his student body.

After he graduated from elementary school, Wilson set his sights on a high school diploma. With the help of his family and friends, he raised enough funds to pay for his secondary school tuition. But before he would allow his son to continue with his education, his father had one condition: Wilson must first spend time living in the wilderness, training as a warrior.

Fuelled by his academic desires, Wilson completed the training. He even built up enough strength and skill to kill a lion.

Once in high school, Wilson continued to thrive and remained at the top of his class. Wilson combined his love for the outdoors and his passion for education by studying wildlife and botany in university.

Wilson has worked with Me to We and Free The Children since 2007, just like his friend and coworker, Jackson (or Letasuna). Jackson was also born in the Narok South District, into a family of nine sisters, 12 brothers, a father and two mothers. In primary school, Jackson was known for his speed and agility, and his football skills.

Similar to Wilson, before starting secondary school, in a rite of passage, Jackson was sent to the wilderness to become a warrior. Through his training and his education, Jackson has acquired a myriad of skills from animal rearing to mathematics to business. A passionate naturalist, Jackson studied botany and guiding in university.

In addition to working with Free The Children in Kenya, Jackson is also very proud of his herd of cows, which he buys to support his family.

Together, Wilson and Jackson have made many North American friends and have inspired thousands of youth and adults alike to change the world. Each of them credits the education they started at a Free The Children school with giving them the knowledge and skills they needed for a brighter future future.
